My very first book was the story of a scientist who stole all the color from the world and then, feeling bad about his misdeed, brought it back via a massive rainbow. It was placed in my elementary school library, however they were neglectful in not getting a signed copy.
I’ve been writing ever since, grateful when our family finally got a computer (yes, I’m that old. I remember when screens were a gorgeous orange and black, kiddies). I’ve been tapping out space pirate adventures, epic romances, and soul-twisting monster fics ever since.
I began writing for an audience when I took a stab at fanfiction in the early 2000s. Writing “live,” chapter by chapter gave me invaluable information on what makes a reading audience tick (and groan and moan and laugh and lovingly hate an author).
After putting out some epic fanfics, I wrote for about four years on a serial fiction site called Joy Boy Island. I loved writing these original stories set on a fictional island in the Caribbean.
I’ve published a couple of times with two different publishers and am currently working on re-releasing my serial fictions from Joy Boy as anthologies and short stories, as well as getting more of my novels out into the world.
When not writing, I am crocheting, fixing up my house, helping people with their taxes, belly dancing, learning how to be a suburban homesteader, and planning for my future small farm in the Pacific Northwest. I’m a hippie, a sci-fi/fantasy geek (if the fanfiction part didn’t give that away), a student of computers, and, I’m told, I make people laugh on occasion.
I currently live in the deserts of Southern California and own two kids and a spouse.
